If your family loves a good adventure, Bear Paw Adventure Park in Caledonia is worth adding to your list. This outdoor adventure destination is just a 25 minute drive from Milwaukee, and packed with activities for a full day of family fun – both on land and in the water.

Here’s a rundown of what you’ll find:

Bear Paw Beach

Aerial view of Bear Paw Beach and Adventure Island showing a large sandy beach area with lounge chairs, cabanas, and a vibrant floating obstacle course on the adjacent lake.

Set around a five-acre man-made lake, Bear Paw Beach is the perfect spot to spread out a towel, play in the sand, or float in the water. Lifeguards are on duty, and you can reserve a beach cabana if you’d like some shade for the day.

Adventure Island (Ages 6+ & 42″+)

Two boys wearing blue life jackets jump off a large inflatable obstacle on a floating water course at Bear Paw Adventure Park, with clear blue skies and trees in the background.

This is the park’s signature feature: The largest floating water obstacle course in the U.S. Expect slippery climbs, wild jumps, and plenty of laughter as kids (and adults!) bounce and splash their way through the floating challenges. Life jackets are required and provided, and session options include 50 or 100 minutes of fun. Beach access is included.

Mini Adventure Island (Ages 4–6)

A young child wearing a neon green life vest jumps across a section of the Mini Adventure Island water course, surrounded by inflatable obstacles and other families in the background.

Little ones don’t have to miss out! Mini Adventure Island is a pint-sized floating course designed just for ages 4–6. Grown-ups stay close by on shore while the littles navigate their own inflatable path. Life jackets are required and provided.

Bear Paw Ropes Course (Ages 6+, 42″+)

A girl navigates the high ropes course at Bear Paw Adventure Park, wearing a helmet and harness while crossing suspended wooden platforms high in the air.

Towering 48 feet in the air, this ropes course features more than 70 obstacles across three levels. Climbers are harnessed in and receive training before tackling the course. Gloves and closed-toe shoes are required.

Note: Kids under a certain height will need a “buddy” (age 14+) to climb with them.

NEW: Randy’s Thrill Hill

Randy’s Thrill Hill at Bear Paw Adventure Park, featuring multiple colorful racing slides built into a tall man-made hill, with a covered observation deck at the top.

Just added in 2025, Randy’s Thrill Hill is a giant 70-foot-tall slide built atop the tallest man-made hill in the state. It features a 50-foot drop and speeds up to 30 mph. It’s a big hit with older kids and teens who are looking for a serious thrill.
