105th Annual City Christmas Tree Lighting

Thursday, Nov. 21st, 2019 | 5pm

City Hall – Market Street

Join Mayor Tom Barrett in this timeless tradition–the lighting of the City’s Christmas tree on Market Street.

Afterwards, head to the dazzling holiday celebration in Pere Marquette Park, where more than 500,000 lights will magically come to life right before your very eyes! Enjoy performances by Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Jenny Thiel, cast members from “Black Nativity” and Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s “A Christmas Carol,” Anita’s Dance Center, Milwaukee Flyers, Robin Adkins, illusionist David Seebach, and national recording artist Grace Weber. Fireworks and a visit from Santa will top off the night.

For your convenience, $3 parking will be available at the Interstate Parking structure located at The Avenue between 3pm and midnight. Enter from Plankinton Avenue or 2nd Street, pull a ticket and park. The promo rate will be applied when leaving the structure.

Join The Corners of Brookfield as they create magical memories this Holiday season! The entire center will have joyous activities, including live reindeer, carolers, live music, face painting, and much more.

The Pfister Hotel’s Annual Tree Lighting Event (Free!)

Friday, November 29, 5:00pm–6:30pm with the official lighting at 5:30pm
Open to the public, complimentary parking with purchase. Join The Pfister Hotel for their signature Holiday tradition as Santa lights the spectacular lobby tree. Sip warm drinks and nibble on a holiday treat while you enjoy the fun. To help those in need within the community, they will be collecting food for Hunger Task Force. To contribute, please bring a non–perishable food item. 

Whitefish Bay Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting (Free!)

Held each year on the Friday following Thanksgiving, the Holiday Stroll includes a nighttime parade, tree lighting ceremony, food, music, and more. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a free pony, train, or trolley ride, visit Santa and his reindeer, and cross things off your holiday list.

The seasonal celebration features a parade with music, Dancing Grannies, racing sausages, Alaskan Malamutes, scout troops, media, and Santa in his sleigh pulled by Cupid and Vixen. It’s an evening not to miss!

The parade begins at 6:00 p.m. at the corner of Kent Avenue and Silver Spring Drive, heading east on Silver Spring Drive ending at Lake Drive in front of Sendik’s. The parade lasts about 45 minutes.

December Tree Lightings

Westown Gets Lit!Thursday, Dec. 5 | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM 310W Plaza – 310 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Join Westown leaders on the plaza of 310W for a new holiday celebration as the neighborhood’s 40-foot-tall tree is lit. Enjoy free cookies, cocoa, s’mores and so much more! The North Shore Holiday Tree Lighting & Celebration (Free!)

December 5th at 4pm at Cardinal Stritch University

Generally, the community holiday tree and menorah lighting is hosted at Bayshore. Due to renovations, Bayshore won’t be able to host the celebration this year. With delight, Cardinal Stritch University will open their doors this year to honor all holiday traditions at a free, community-wide celebration on December 5th at 4pm. All are welcome! Stay for the “social” afterward and enjoy treats and beverages. Mingle with the Cardinal Stritch students and staff.

Each Christmas, you’ll find a magical tree lighting in Catalano Square (which is actually a triangle shape – go figure), live reindeer, chestnuts roasting on an open fire (really!), horse drawn carriage rides, costumed characters, hot cocoa, and more. You can visit with Santa in Jolly’s Outdoor Gingerbread House, too.

The parade is organized by the Prospect Lions Club and the route will run along National Avenue from Coffee Road to Malone Park. (163rd & National Avenue). The Tree Lighting Ceremony, sponsored by the New Berlin Lion’s Club,will follow the parade at Casper Dr.& National Ave.

Visit WebsiteThe West Allis Christmas Parade is an annual holiday tradition, and one of the only night-time Christmas parade in Southeast Wisconsin. Enjoy marching bands and live performers, creative floats and vintage vehicles, meet elves, cartoon characters, and of course, wave to Santa Claus himself at the end of the parade! This year’s theme is “Lights, Camera, Christmas – Take 2!” a blockbuster celebration of the season.

The Parade will be marshaled at the 81st Street (Gate 2) State Fair Park entrance. The Parade will proceed east on Greenfield Avenue to 70th Street, then south to Orchard Avenue.

Visit Santa’s Cafe prior to the parade and enjoy tea, hot chocolate, cookies and more beginning at 3:30 p.m.  The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. at the West Allis Centennial Park Plaza on 76th and Greenfield Avenue.
