The Milwaukee Festival Brass will conclude its 41st Season with a concert entitled “American Celebration.”
“With our country preparing to celebrate its 250th anniversary, it only seemed fitting to mark the occasion in style” said Dr. Mark A. Taylor, the Music Director of Milwaukee Festival Brass. “And just like our nation: our brass band origins might be British, but we’ve created something uniquely American that we can call our own.”
The concert will open with Aaron Copland’s iconic “Fanfare for the Common Man.” An original brass band composition, “Chorale and Toccata,” by American composer Stephen Bulla will follow. The band’s resident composer, David Grace, has written a beautiful setting of the hymn tune, “Be Thou My Vision.” The band will present classic melodies by Glenn Miller and Elvis Presley, along with a salute to the Harlem Globetrotters, celebrating their 100thanniversary this year. Capping this celebratory concert will be George Gershwin’s masterpiece, “An American in Paris.”
The Milwaukee Festival Brass will present “American Celebration” on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Pius XI HS. Doors open at 6:30; concert tickets are:
