Join us on World Dyslexia Day (October 8, 2025) at Sherman Phoenix for a free community screening of the acclaimed documentary Left Behind.
Called “one of the best documentaries of this or any year” (Deadline) and praised by Anderson Cooper as “powerful, inspiring,” the film follows a group of mothers who fought to create the first public dyslexic school in New York City.
Dyslexia affects 1 in 5 people and millions of adults remain undiagnosed. Featuring Kareem Weaver of the NAACP, Left Behind frames dyslexia as a civil rights issue and celebrates the creativity and resilience of dyslexic minds.
