Root Beer Bash: Free Floats and Family Fun in Glendale (August 6)

Root Beer Bash will take place at Bayshore this year for the first time.

Glendale is the officially the “Root Beer Capital of the Universe”.

On National Root Beer Float Day (August 6th), Bayshore is hosting Welcome to Glendale’s Root Beer Bash for the first time.

The family-friendly root beer festival is brewed for all ages, and will take place between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. It’s presented in partnership with Welcome To Glendale and Sprecher Brewing Company.

The festival is free to attend and there will be plenty of parking available.

The bash features a day of free family fun with a Kids Dance Party at 11 a.m., Cold Sweat and the Brew City Horns at 2 p.m. and Block Party Band at 5 p.m., and much more.

Plus, visitors can be a part of history as Sprecher Brewing Company attempts to beat the Guinness World Record for the most root beer floats given away.

In 2020, Sprecher gave away more than 16,000 root beer floats and they are hoping to give away even more this year.

Sprecher is giving away free root beer floats at Root Beer Bash.

“Free Sprecher is the perfect way for us to connect with our fans and serve families that find root beer floats the perfect treat for a summer day,” said Sharad Chadha, CEO of Sprecher Brewery. “We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy themselves at the Sprecher Root Beer Bash.”

For every free float given away, Sprecher will donate one meal to a local neighbor in need in partnership with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

“The entire team at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is extremely excited to participate in Welcome to Glendale’s Sprecher Root Beer Bash this year,” said Patti Habeck, President and CEO of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. “We’re grateful for their generosity and look forward to the event.”

Root Beer Bash welcomed over three thousand families last year and a larger turnout is expected this year. Attendees should register to ensure organizers have an ample supply of root beer and ice cream.

“We are so excited to partner with these great Glendale organizations on one of the community’s most anticipated summer events,” said Becca Garrison, Executive Director at Welcome to Glendale.

“What’s better on a hot summer day than heading over to BAYSHORE to enjoy live music and a free and delicious Sprecher root beer float made with Cedar Crest Ice Cream.”

“We can’t wait to see all the smiles at the festival with so many exciting activities to do from community art projects to a wide array of entertainment and food trucks,” said Brenda Vento, Marketing Manager at BAYSHORE. “There’s something for everyone in our communities to enjoy.”

There are seven hotels within two miles of BAYSHORE. The Holiday Inn Riverfront will be providing a free shuttle for guests to attend Root Beer Bash.
