6 Christmas Parades & Tree Lightings Still Happening in 2020

The Menomonee Falls Christmas Parade has been canceled for 2020. Other parades are still happening.

The Milwaukee With Kids elves are on the job, keeping track of which holiday events are still on this year, and which ones are canceled.

Here is the latest intel on annual Christmas Parades & Tree Lightings:

1. Bayshore’s Season to Sparkle

Nov 20, 2020, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

The Yard at Bayshore

Lively entertainment from the Tracy Hannemann Group, ice carving and sculptures, food trucks, and a new magnificent tree lighting at 5:30pm. Take a merry stroll and discover joy on the Bayshore Art Walk where colorful murals created by local artists bring Bayshore to life. The event is free and open to the public.Bayshore supports the practice of social distancing. Mask wearing is strongly encouraged. Social distancing signage and hand sanitizer units are in public restrooms, and public seating areas are positioned for safe social distancing in the open-air environment.

2. 58th Annual Christmas Parade in Downtown Waukesha

This has been canceled.


3. Greendale’s Tree Lighting Ceremony

Friday, November 27, 2020 at 6 PM CST – 8 PM CSTHistoric Downtown Greendale

Join in Greendale’s beloved holiday tradition to countdown Historic Downtown Greendale’s Holiday Light Display! Kids can enter to win the chance to lead the countdown and Flip The Switch to turn on the lights. Enter at the Welcome Center, located at 5680 Broad St. Live music at Village Hall and snacks & treats throughout the Village will lead up to Santa’s big arrival via the Greendale Fire Truck at 6:30pm!

Safety measures: Visits with Santa will not take place this year and vendors/viewing areas will be dispersed throughout the Village to maintain social distancing and avoid congregating in front of Village Hall.

4. Drexel Town Square Tree Lighting & Craft Fair

Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

This is a new holiday event coming to Drexel Town Square for 2020. Businesses will have the opportunity to help light the square with holiday displays ranging from pole mounts to ground displays. Families and friends can gather in Drexel Town Square to watch the lighting of the square while listening to the wonderful sounds of Christmas music performed by local entertainers. Enjoy hot chocolate, hot apple cider and fresh Christmas cookies while strolling around the square viewing each of the wonderfully lit displays. Step inside the Civic Center for our holiday craft fair. There you can grab a hot chocolate or glass of mulled wine while shopping for those last-minute holiday gifts. Purchase an item from our crafters and get it wrapped for free!

5. 8th Annual Brookfield Village Christmas Tree Lighting

Thursday December 3, 2020

Celebrate the Christmas Season with an evening of fun for the entire family. Hot chocolate, ornament making, bon fire, tree lighting and much more! All events will be outside and socially distant.

6. Hales Corners Village Tree Lighting Ceremony & Santa Visit

Saturday, December 5th, 2020

5885 S 116th St, Hales Corners, WI 53130


Join the community in the library’s lower level parking lot for holiday music, welcome from Village President Dan Besson, holiday tree lighting, and about 6:20 pm, Santa arriving by fire truck. Masks required for this gathering. Public rest rooms will be open and available both upstairs and downstairs.
