7 Fun Hanukkah Happenings For Families



Hanukkah is the eight-day "festival of lights" celebrated by Jews around the world with nightly menorah lighting, special prayers, and traditional foods like latkes.


This year, Hanukkah begins on Sunday, December 22nd. Here are some community happenings around town:


Chanukah Menorah Workshop at Home Depot

JCC Community Hanukkah Celebration

Public Menorah Lighting in front of Metro Market

Whitefish Bay Menorah Celebration

Hanukkah again will be celebrated on Silver Spring Drive.  Thank you to the Jewish Community Center who will again have a lighting ceremony each night around 6:00 to celebrate the 8 days of Hanukkah.


Giant Car-Menorah Parade

Bring your children to see the huge Car-Menorah Parade! The parade will start with the Menorah Lighting at 3:00 pm in Mequon, followed by the procession to the FISERV FORUM PLAZA Downtown where there will be the Grand Menorah Lighting, Chanukah delicacies and entertainment for the family.


Chanukah Skating Party & Dinner

The Grand Chanukah Skating Party & Dinner will be at Ozaukee Skateland from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. There will be a Huge Hot Dog Bar with more than 20 choices of toppings! Latkes, prizes and Chanukah gelt.
