Festa Italiana is back this weekend, July 20-22, 2018, at the Henry Maier Festival Park, and there will be fun for the whole family.
The best part is that children 12 and under get in *free*!
Here are some other highlights for kids and families:
Free Carnival Rides
This year *free* carnival rides are returning for the whole family all three days of the festival. Sponsored by Catholic Financial Life, rides include: the Giant Slide, Go-Gator, Rio Grande Train, Merry Go Round, Tilt-a-Whirl, Paratrooper, Round Up and Sky Fighter. You’ll find the carnival rides on the north end of the grounds.
Beginning on the North end of the grounds, Festa Italiana’s enchanting parade will wind its way through the festival Saturday and Sunday evening. Led by Pinocchio, Geppetto, the Blue Fairy and Topo Gigio, the beloved parade celebrates the music, culture and spirit of Italy.
Kids Pizza Making Contest
All children ages 5-17 are invited to participate in the Kids Pizza Making Contest on Sunday, July 22 in the Cucina Showcase. The annual contest is a fun way for children of all ages to create fresh, made-from-scratch pizza in front of the live Cucina Showcase audience. Winners for each age group will receive a commemorative t-shirt. More details can be found here: http://festaitaliana.com/fooddrink/kids-pizza-contest/
Stop by the Children’s Stage all three days for a variety of family-friendly performances, including a magician, juggling act, ventriloquist and Children’s Italian Dance Group. Check out the schedule here: http://festaitaliana.com/entertainment/childrens-stage/.
