We stopped by Little Sprouts Play Cafe in Shorewood this morning so that my two young daughters could play while I had a casual business meeting.
And really, that’s what this place is all about.
Little Sprouts has created a casual, bright, and friendly space that is perfect for a play date. You can discover the play stations right along with your kids, or easily keep an eye on them while you chat with a friend over Stone Creek coffee.
The toys inside are meant to spark imaginative play, such as a wooden play structure and house, a fanciful tipi, costumes, books, a tea set and dishes, and grocery carts with pretend food. My girls played for two hours and could have kept right on going.
We lucked out and came on a day when the friendly neighborhood veterinarian, Dr. Noah Arnold, stopped in for an impromptu guitar concert. His office is next door and he stops in frequently, bringing soft music that is calming and entertaining for the kids and adults alike.
Little Sprouts also offers creative classes and workshops, summer camps, and birthday parties. Kids can participate in activities like yoga, Mad Science, and fairy and unicorn workshops.

-Parking is plentiful in the adjacent lot and on the street.
-Bring socks – they are required.
-Try the almond butter toast with banana and cinnamon. Trust me!
