#1. Snow Day at Discovery World

Discovery world is celebrating the science of snow with cool activities, labs and games! Learn all about the science behind snowflakes using molecular models to understand how snowflakes take their unique shape. Get your photo with Santa Snowflake Science on the promenade and create holiday-themed projects in the Kohl’s Design It! Lab.

The Urban Ecology Center’s Candlelight Walk for Kids is a yearly tradition honoring the winter solstice – the longest night of the year. Take a guided stroll down the luminary-lit paths of the Milwaukee Centennial Rotary Arboretum and enjoy stops along the way with kid-friendly readings and stories. Back at the Center warm yourself by the fire as you enjoy music, snacks, crafts, games, and hot cocoa.

Walks begin at 4:30pm and continue every fifteen minutes (last walk leaves at 5:45pm)

Adults: $5 (Nonmembers – $7)

Children: $3 (Nonmembers – $5)

Registration for specific walk times is required.

#3. Santa at the North Point Lighthouse

Sunday, December 17th

1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

North Point Lighthouse (2650 N. Wahl Ave. in Lake Park)

Admission: $8 for adults / $5 for adults age 65+ with ID / $5 for children age 5-11 / No charge for children age 4 and under / All active and retired Military are free with ID.

Did you know that Santa uses lighthouses to find your house on Christmas Eve? In fact, he’ll be at The North Point Lighthouse Museum telling you about the legend of Christmas and all about the history of the North Point Lighthouse built in 1888.You can take your own photos with him in his vintage maritime workshop complete with classic toys and ships. The North Point Lighthouse­­, built in 1888, was restored as a museum and gallery by the North Point Lighthouse Friends, Inc. and rededicated in 2007. The North Point Light Station consists of a 74-foot lighthouse tower and two and a half story wood-frame Keeper’s Quarters. Visitors are invited to enjoy the museum and climb the tower during public hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m., with additional hours in the summer.
