Great Pretenders costumes spark imaginative play

Is anybody else running out of things to do this summer?Even when I plan a fun-filled morning for my three young kids, after lunch and nap time there’s still the entire afternoon to fill with activities.

(And they seem to want dinner every single night! Can you believe that?)

Lucky for me, Great Pretenders came to the rescue by sending a package-o-goodies that included a princess costume, flower crown, knight shield, foam sword, and a color-your-own treasure chest.

And voila! What would have been a nothing afternoon turned into an imaginative adventure.

Almost immediately upon trying on their new costumes, they were immersed in a fantasy world of their own creation. And, amazingly, they weren’t fighting or bickering or whining.

The whimsical princess/fairy costume is decorated with iridescent sequins, fluttery sheer sleeves, and a full skirt. The flower crown looks just like the snapchat filter everyone loves.

The medieval shield and sword are dressed up with costume gems, and the foam is pretty stable. I think it will last awhile even given my six-year-old’s wild antics.

But my personal favorite part of the package was the design-your-own treasure chest which came with bold, colorful markers, glittery tape, and shiny stickers to use for decoration.

This was our finished product (pretty professional, huh?):

You can find Great Pretenders costumes in Winkie’s in Whitefish Bay, and online.

Thank you, Great Pretenders for the awesome gift!
