Christmas in the Ward is offering a wide range of family-friendly activities throughout the Third Ward this Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd. The festivities kick off in Catalano Square at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with Mrs. Claus and her live reindeer, as well as a Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30.
Visitors can also meet a variety of costumed characters including Jolly & Ginger Gingerbread, Frosty the Snowman, and Captain Kettle.
Meet Santa himself in Jolly's Outdoor Gingerbread House. Kids will receive a cookie and have an opportunity to tell Santa what they want for Christmas. You can bring your own camera for pictures or have your picture taken for a $5.00 donation.
There will be musical performances by the Milwaukee Police Band, Highpoint Barbershop Quartet, Sussex Hamilton A Cappella Choir, and Sigmund Snopek, and the Trinity Irish Dancers.
Horse-drawn carriage rides, which board at Chicago & Broadway, will be available throughout the weekend.
Visitors can enjoy food trucks in Catalano Square, hot chocolate, coffee, cocoa cocktails for adults and chestnuts roasting on an open fire throughout the weekend.
Don't miss the Bartollota Fireworks over the river starting at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
The fun continues Saturday with Christmas carolers throughout the Third Ward, and a continuation of many of the same events from Friday.
