The Walker’s Point Association is hosting the 7th annual Dia de los Muertos festival this Saturday, October 29th from 1:00-5:00 in Walker Square Park.
They will also be hosting a 5K Run/Walk on the same day at 10:00 a.m.
The festival is free, and to run in the race costs $25.00.
Dia de los Muertos is all about celebrating the lives of our loved ones who have passed away, with colorful ofrendas (altars), lively music, and traditional foods and crafts. The event will also include live Aztec dancers.
The event also has a goal of bringing together the Milwaukee community.
Show up at 10 a.m. for pre-race registration. The race begins at 12 p.m. and the awards presentation with refreshments (bananas, oranges, water, and beer!) takes place around 1 p.m.
The festival will begin around 1:00 p.m.
