Now, onto some handy tips for visiting the BMO Harris Bradley Center with kids.
Our family attended a Bucks game a couple of weeks ago, and we had so much fun. It was a much different experience than when we used to be a carefree, childless couple.
(Read: less beer, more juice. )
But the night was a memorable one and we’ll definitely do it again soon.
Here are some tips we picked up along the way:
1. Arrive early to park cheap.
We arrived at 5:30 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. game, and found street parking within two blocks. This is one way to save on expensive parking structures, and to make sure you don’t have to walk too far.
2. Seek out live music, theme nights, and autographs.
Especially if you’ve arrived early, you’ll need ways to keep the kids busy before the game starts. Head to the atrium where there’s usually live music playing, or to one of the play areas.
Also, be sure to check if there’s a special theme night. We visited on Country Western night, and the Bucks dancers signed autographs for fans in their western gear.
3. Gather up your first game goodies and giveaways.
If it’s any of your children’s first Bucks game, be sure to stop by any of the Fan Information Booths to scoop up some free giveaways, including a bracelet, a sticker and a pin. You might also find giveaways down in the atrium.
4. Make a sign.
Another way to pass the time is by getting crafty and getting into the fan spirit. Look for booths that have blank signs and markers, and get to it! (Your sign will most definitely be more sophisticated than ours.)
5. Save money on food.
Did you know that the Kids Carts around the BMO Harris Bradley Center sell kids’ snacks for $1.00? You can purchase goldfish, peanuts, fruit roll-ups, chips, string cheese and more.
Bonus tip! What not to do: Consider not sitting in the nosebleeds, especially if you’re 9 months pregnant. Consider yourself warned!
*If any of your children are Bucks fanatics, you may want to consider registering for the Bango’s Kids Club for special ticket offers, pre-game warmup opportunities, and more.
