It’s finally started to warm up outside, and the Winter Carnival at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center may be the perfect way to enjoy the winter warmth.
(Did I just refer to 15 degrees as “warmth”? Yep, I did.)
The family-friendly event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and run until 4:00 p.m. this Sunday, January 24th.
Scheduled activities include horse drawn wagon rides, Ms. Kim’s Amazing Animals, owl meet and greets, guided nature hikes, and ice-cano hikes down to the lake (for adults).
Drop-in activities, ongoing throughout the day, include maple sugar demonstrations, snow bowling, sledding, winter crafts and snowshoeing. Snowshoes will be available first come, first served.
For the very little ones, enjoy the Preschool Playspace.
Treats will include pancakes with real maple syrup and s’mores. Food will be available for purchase from Gouda Girls, Wicked Urban Grill, and the Rolling Cones.
The Center’s parking lot will be open but fills quickly. Over-flow parking is located at the Shul Center. Schlitz Audubon will provide free shuttle service from and returning to the Shul Center.
If you become a first-time member of Schlitz Audubon during the Winter Carnival, you receive $20 off your membership.
