7 things to do with kids at State Fair this weekend

It’s your last chance to enjoy the Wisconsin State Fair! It runs through Sunday, August 14th.

Here are seven fun things you can do with your kids this weekend at the fair:

1. Get free samples of food

Saturday, August 13th is Pick n’ Save Day, full of food, fun and family-friendly activities. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., while supplies last, enjoy tattoos for the Kids, Cornhole for Coupons for the Adults, samplings from Kemps, Kraft, and Lifeway, Magic Shows, an Oreo Stacking Contest and a Kemp’s Ice Cream Eating Contest.

2. Catch a “Kids From Wisconsin” concert

The kid-friendly singing and dancing group will be performing at the Bank Mutual Amphitheater on Saturday, August 13th at 2:00 and 3:15 and Sunday at 1:30.

3. Get a safety wristband for your kids

Visit the We Energies Energy Park all day every day to make bright orange safety wristbands for your kids. See all 8 of our family safety crowd tips.

Also enjoy the Sky Hunter Birds of Prey shows at the same location.

4. See a magic show

See Jared Sherlock, comic magician and illusionist perform at the Wilderness Resort Family Variety Stage at 5:00, 7:00 & 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13th.

5. Go to a pig race

Head to the Racing Animals Arena to check out the racing pigs. Races are held all day long Saturday and Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m.

6. Splash with the sea lions

Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 – 1:00 on South Grandstand Avenue, “Sea Lion Splash presented by Meijer, located on South Grandstand Avenue, will have crowds cheering and laughing once again, while also teaching valuable lessons about marine wildlife and conservation. The sea lions will amaze as they balance balls, shoot hoops and even perform handstands! This is the only traveling sea lion show in the U.S. and each 30-minute show will educate the audience while also bringing out the natural comedic nature of these amazing animals.”

7. Watch Michelle’s Magical Poodles

Check out Michelle’s Magical Poodles doing quirky dog tricks with an educational twist the World Cafe Stage on Sunday, August 14th at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.
