The Gingerbread Land Holiday Show at the Mitchell Park Domes does not disappoint, and this weekend is the last chance you’ll have to see it.
As the flurries started to fly last Monday, my kids and I took shelter in the calm, warm weather of the three climate-controlled domes.
First, we explored the cacti and archeological dig sites in the Desert Dome. In the Tropical Dome, we watched the fish and waterfall, then found the 85 foot tall kapok tree. Finally, we headed to the Floral Show Dome for the Gingerbread Land Holiday Show.
We were greeted by a sea of beautiful red poinsettas, candy-coated gingerbread people and houses, and festive holiday decorations, including a huge decorated tree.
We strolled along the perfectly curated paths and soaked in that last bit of holiday fun for the season.
In the center of the exhibit is a special garden that features the ingredients necessary to make gingerbread cookies. You can even peek into the gingerbread house.
The Gingerbread Land Holiday Show runs through Sunday, January 3rd. Get free admission and parking when you attend the Milwaukee County Winter Farmer’s Market on Saturday, January 2nd, but expect a big crowd!
