Who would have thought that a dive bar would be the perfect place for a four-year-old birthday party?
My friends, apparently. And you know what? They were right.
If you want to think outside of the box for your child’s next birthday party, and host a quintissential Milwaukee celebration, Koz’s Mini Bowl may be just what you’re looking for.
Located at 2078 South 7th St. on Milwaukee’s south side, Koz’s Mini Bowl has been featured in Esquire Magazine as one of the Best Bars in America, and it’s the only place in Wisconsin where you can mini bowl.
The bar itself looks and smells exactly like it must have in the 1950’s. If you’re looking for something fancy, look elsewhere. But the throw-back vibe is what makes this place authentic and memorable.
If you’re wondering, ‘What the heck is mini-bowling?”, you’re not alone. In the back of the bar, you’ll find four half lanes, mini bowling balls and mini pins. Your pins will be manually set up by workers behind the gates. If you’re anything like me, your mini-bowling skills will be far superior to your regular-bowling skills.
The kids had a blast mini-bowling, running laps around the bar, and pretending to play pool on the billiard table. Adults enjoyed themselves having a drink, helping the kids mini-bowl, and chatting around the bar. Management seemed to be welcoming and accomodating.
So if you just can’t stomach another bouncie house birthday, perhaps your problem is solved.
