Each spring, the Urban Ecology Center at Riverside Park is a place to be to meet local farmers who grow food sustainably and learn how to buy directly from them. This FREE event is a once-a-year opportunity to talk with local farmers, learn about their farms and what they produce — and their variety of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription options. Find the farm that’s right for you. Bring the kids! This year there is special programming just for children. Explore how plants grow and what it takes to grow your very own vegetables. Play farm-themed games, explore decomposers and pollinators, and build your own seedling to take home and start your own garden.

Hope to see you there! Drag Queen Story Hour is more than just drag queens reading to children. It serves to provide spaces where children can see people who defy rigid gender roles, express their own gender identity, and find glamorously positive queer role models. It is also a place where parents can learn about gender expression and have the chance to meet people who can share their experiences on growing up gender non-conforming. Please come for a family event that will include stories that promote service-learning, diversity, education, and creativity.
