Kids Impact Community (KIC) invites you to collect food donations to help Kinship Community Food Center provide families with items to prepare their own traditional Thanksgiving meals.
Kinship Community Food Center engages volunteers and neighborhood residents to end hunger, isolation, and poverty. This year, Kinship is focused on helping their frequent community members have both the supplies and the knowledge to cook their own healthy, traditional Thanksgiving meals. We are asking families to collect/contribute items that can be used in either sweet or savory baking (or a combination of both!).
Your children, along with an adult, can visit houses in your neighborhood to ask for donations to help collect food for families to cook their own Thanksgiving meal. Families may also choose to simply donate on their own without going door-to-door. Once you register, we will follow up with a detailed email that will include important dates, specific dropoff locations, a list of what food items to collect, and prepared documents to help set your children up for success. You will have from Nov. 1 until Nov. 18 to collect and drop off all donations at one of the designated collection sites located in these areas: Franklin / Glendale / Lannon / Shorewood / Waukesha / Whitefish Bay. For more information, Look Here.
Ages: All ages welcome! Cost: The only cost to you would include any donation your family wishes to make.
Please note: Dates and times are subject to change, and occasionally events may be cancelled. Please check the event website to confirm the latest details: (It’s Volunteer Time MKE!)
