The Gary E. Sampson Planetarium is a state-of-the-art facility specifically designed for the study of astronomy. Installed when Wauwatosa West High School was built in 1967-68, the planetarium has been updated to include full-dome video projection capabilities and comfortable seating. It is a field trip destination and a “lab” classroom for the Advanced Astronomy course at West High School.
We offer programs for students in preschool through senior high school, as well as free public programs for guests from the Wauwatosa area. The planetarium seats up to 60 guests and is fully accessible for guests with limited mobility.
All shows start promptly at 7:00 PM and last approximately 1 hour. A live tour of the current night sky is a part of every program. Reserve your seats now by calling 414-773-3390 and following the prompts on the reservation line. Be prepared to state the date you would like to
attend, your last name with spelling, the number of guests in your party, and a phone number where you can be reached in case the show needs to be postponed or canceled. NEW THIS YEAR, register via the Wauwatosa School District Facebook Page. Click on the search button on the WSD page and search for the planetarium to see our events and other posts.
